Summer Hours at the Robbers Library & Update on My Reading Challenge

I started this book during National Libraries Week (April 8-14, 2018) and figured since it took place in a library and about a librarian, it fit perfectly. Unfortunately, I also had class projects due that week so I didn’t finish until this week but I’m glad I stuck with it. But first, before the review, I want to talk about my reading challenge thus far.

Graphic Novels Roundup #2

In my last post, I talked super briefly about the history of comics and graphic novels and what a disaster of a graduate student I was when I made my presentation to my class. I read probably six or seven books in a week, rushing through them all but I’ll go over the ones I really liked.

Graphic Novels Roundup #1

I had something of a mental meltdown in front of my classmates as I tried to give a super brief overview of the history of graphic novels and comics, condensing about 80s years worth of information into a three-minute talk.I’ve decided, then, to write down what I wish I could’ve said to my class. The history is really fascinating and cool and this only brushes the surface.

Children of Blood and Bone

This is probably one of the best books I’ve read all year so far, which it’s only the first of April, so that’s not saying much but I doubt any YA fiction book could top this. For once, I’m not regretting jumping off my to-read list this time.
